At Lalji & Associates, our vision is to support & to strengthen the potential of enterprising families to continue to do what they’ve always done: Build strong families, contribute to their local communities, and continue to build flourishing enterprises which support each of these important goals, We understand, intuitively, the need for each of the three aspects of a family enterprise: Family, Ownership, and Business to successfully interact with one another, in order to prevent seemingly minor lapses in communication from growing into more catastrophic family and business events. We utilize research-based & data-driven tools regarded as foundational in our industry in order to assist families, business owners, and business managers navigate the complex interplay between these three areas. We pride ourselves in continually staying ahead of research & best practices in our industry to continue to provide data-driven advice for our clients.
Gulnaaz Lalji
Founding Partner
Gulnaaz was born & raised in Vancouver, Canada, educated in Kingston, Canada, Washington, D.C., and Bologna, Italy. She has lived & worked in each of Canada, the United States & Europe.
Gulnaaz is a third generation family member who grew up within a multigenerational business family, which had its roots in East Africa, and later moved to Canada, the U.S., and the U.K. She understands well the interplay between family, enterprise, and the various communities within which an enterprising family works and operates. Her personal experience growing up within a multi-generational enterprising family gives her the insights she needs to relate to other members of enterprising families, as well as the personal experience required to determine which professional tools are best suited for each individual and each family she works with. Her passion for family, and for assisting families avoid the pitfalls of short-sighted solutions, is what drives her to provide custom-built solutions, based on each individual family’s own values, vision, culture, and circumstances.
